Who Are We?

Northwest Ag Plastics, Inc. is contracted to collect and granulate  plastic pesticide containers for the agricultural industry in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Subcontractors in Oregon and Idaho help carry out this program.  In Oregon, Agri-Plas, Inc. based in Brooks Oregon services Western and Central Oregon.  In Idaho, the Idaho Department of Agriculture carries out the program.

Recyclable plastic can include plastic containers that held pesticides, micro-nutrients, adjuvants and cleaners. Dedicated to environmental stewardship for all pesticide users, we also recycle plastic containers generated from other industries such as golf courses and lawn and tree care companies.

Container recycling is provided at no charge.

In 2006, the Far West Agribusiness Association and Washington State  Dept. of Ecology worked together to secure temporary funding in Washington State as ACRC funding did not allow program expansion .  This funding made it possible for the recycling program to continue throughout 2006 in the Pacific Northwest.

The Agricultural Container Recycling Council (ACRC) provides funding for recycling activities and research for plastic uses. It is supported by the major chemical manufacturers.

Northwest Ag Plastics [NWAP] also is contracted to recycle pesticide containers in Idaho and Oregon.

In Idaho, NWAP works with the Idaho Department of Agriculture CROP (Container Recycling Operation). This project is a joint venture with the Idaho Crop Production Association (IPCA), Idaho Agricultural Aviation Association (IAAA), other agricultural industries, professional lawn care companies and the Idaho State Department of Agriculture.  In 2007, IDA will expand their services by adding another plastic grinder.  This will allow one machine to be stationed in eastern Idaho and one in western Idaho.

In Oregon, NWAP services the northeastern region including Hermiston, Umitila, Pendleton and The Dalles. The NWAP subcontractor, AgriPlas, Inc. serves western Oregon customers in the Willamatte Valley, Madras, Bend and Klamath Falls.

The ag plastic recycling program, operated by NW Ag Plastics, Inc., travels throughout Washington, Idaho and Oregon to recycle and collect pesticide containers that have been properly decontaminated.

Northwest Ag Plastics grinds
plastic containers into chips.

The chips become drain pipe and truck decking products.
This is one of the NWAP chippers. It grinds containers to a small, bulk commodity. The chips are sold remanufactuers to help maintain the recycling program.
